The highlight? Catching fresh fish and enjoying it cooked on the spot. It doesn’t get more authentic than that!

As a seafood lover, I’ve found a family favourite in the east: Smith Marine Floating Restaurant. This kelong offers a true “farm to table” experience with fish, crabs, and prawns caught fresh from the sea right before they hit our plates.

The rustic charm, paired with a short, calm 15-minute ferry ride, made it a refreshing and unique escape from the usual city scene in Singapore. One of the long-time staff I chatted with said he still loves his job farming and fishing for the customers!
