Sunda Festival 2025 bumps catchy alternative dance music this Easter weekend!
Sunda Festival 2025
Where: Sarimbun Scout Camp, 70 Jalan Bahtera
When: April 17 to 19, 2025
Tickets: From S$83
Looking for something fun to do over the Easter Weekend? Well, do I have the answer for you: Sunda Festival 2025!
Sunda Festival is a relatively new event. Co-founders Daniel O’Connor and Jake Camacho started dreaming of having their own music festival in 2019, but it was only in 2023 that they were able to host the very first festival.
Even though it’s new to the music festival scene, Sunda Festival has grown in popularity, and now they’re collaborating with the Hong Kong-based creative agency, FuFu Creative, to bring the event to life!
I attended both the first and second Sunda Festivals, and now I’m looking forward to the third. I love that it’s set far away from the city, so it almost feels like an exotic vacation. Plus, the lineup is full of upcoming artists, and I love discovering new music to jive with.
Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect.
What to Expect
From: sunda.festival
Opening Night: April 17
Time: 10:30 pm to 3 am
Where: MDLR, 62 Cecil St, #02-00
The festival’s opening night is the only one that’s not held at the camp. It also starts late at night, but there’s no need to worry because the next day is a holiday!
The lineup features Antal, the widely renowned selector and Rush Hour Records founder, Dean Chew, and Muto. With these musicians, opening night is definitely a night full of dancing and no sleeping.
Day 2: April 18
Time: 1 pm to 4 am
Now’s the time to catch a vibe in a gorgeous natural setting. For Friday’s lineup, you can expect hitmakers like Soichi Terada (a Japanese electronic music composer best known for the Ape Escape video games), Mantravine (a neo-Ethnic music band with a catchy psychedelic sound), and Danilo Plessow (also known as Motor City Drum Ensemble).
Aside from amazing live performances, there will also be exciting activities—from casual fun to informative classes. I’m personally excited to attend the Neon Chess. I’m not much of a chess player, but hey, it doesn’t hurt to try playing the game.
Day 3: April 19
Day 3 continues the fun that Day 2 has set. For the third and final day of the festival, you can expect to enjoy the music of Mogwaa (a South Korean musician with a cult following on SoundCloud), La Mamie’s (a renowned DJs from France), and Mr. Ho (best known for his razor-sharp and mind-bending music).
There will be even more fun activities and events during the final day. I’m looking forward to Tree of Life, an event where I can sew my own piece of clothing while jamming to music, and Groove Lab, a workshop that teaches me how to dance.
Sunda Accommodations
Since the festival is held so far from urban areas, it’s a struggle to find a place to stay. Fortunately, you can find accommodations within the festival grounds.
These accommodations are tents and huts, and they can accommodate up to six people. If you have money to spare, you can get the hut with air conditioning for maximum comfort.
How to Get to Sunda Festival 2025
Sarimbun Scout Camp is tucked all the way in northwestern Singapore, so it’s hard to get to. Your best option is to take the train to Kranji MRT Station, then ride bus 975 to bus stop 34021.
From there, you have to walk to the camp. It’s a relatively long walk, around 20 to 25 minutes.
