As an aunt who has accompanied my nieces and nephews on day-outs, I know for a fact that Singapore has seriously fun outdoor playgrounds tucked all over the island. There’s something for every kid (and the occasional adult) here in the form of epic slides or nature-themed play areas.

Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden

I consider Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden a little nature haven for kids to explore and let loose. The treehouse alone and the zip lines are little-people crowd-pleasers (my nephews and nieces can spend hours on them!).
There’s also a sand pit and canopy walkway that feels like a mini-adventure trail. Plus, there are plenty of shaded areas for when you want to cool off.
Pro tip: There’s a map of the play area you can take at the main entrance for free.
COMO Adventure Ground

The star of COMO Adventure Ground is the 10-metre banyan tree structure. It’s perfect for kids (and kids at heart like me) to climb and slide down.
There are also swings, tube slides, and hammocks for hours and hours of al fresco fun. Surrounded by lush greenery, it’s an ideal place for kids of all ages to spend the day.
Pro tip: There are plenty of grassy areas to lay down a blanket and have a picnic on.
Coastal PlayGrove

Coastal PlayGrove boasts a 16-metre tower with twisting tube slides and climbing nets, the tallest outdoor play feature in Singapore by far. Now, who could resist that? Not me and the little ones!
Its water area is also a hit for cooling off, while the nature play garden satisfies our adventurous spirit. This playground offers vertical adrenaline, nature, and water play, so come on over!
Pro tip: The bathrooms here have clean showers in case you get a little grimy from playing.
Marine Cove Playground

Marine Cove Playground has a massive play structure featuring slides and climbing nets, which is a dream for kids needing to burn off excess energy. The best part is that it’s open 24/7 so you can swing by any time!
There is also inclusive play equipment so kids of all abilities can join in the fun. Plus, it’s right by the beach so you get all the sun, surf, and sand fun you can manage.
Pro tip: There are snack vending machines in the area if you get hungry or thirsty.
West Coast Park Adventure Playground

Pro tip: There’s a McCafe within spitting distance if you need to grab a beverage for you and the kids.
Forest Ramble at Jurong Lake Gardens

Admiralty Park Playground

The kids and I consider Admiralty Park Playground our slide heaven with its 26 slides of all shapes and sizes: wide, tube, and even roller slides! The climbing structures make it a full-on adventure space for energetic kids.
Having a special-needs niece, I’m happy that there are sensory play panels and gentle gradient slides for her to play with. It’s a huge inclusive playground that brings smiles to everyone.
Pro tip: The merry-go-round here is also wheelchair-accessible!
Sembawang Park Battleship Playground

If you love planes, The Oval at Seletar Aerospace Park is a must-visit. Its aviation-themed playground features mini-plane structures, swings, and slides.
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it’s ideal for late afternoon play while watching real planes fly by. We’ve hung out here after the kids have done their homework.
Pro tip: There are charming cafes such as The Summerhouse and Wildseed Cafe nearby if you need a snack break.
Punggol Waterway Park Playground

Since it’s open all day, every day, it’s ideal for cooling off on a hot day or for a spontaneous evening visit. The lush surroundings add to the nature adventure vibe.
Pro tip: There’s a shower area to wash up after playing and one toilet for kids’ use.
Nature Playgarden at HortPark

At Nature Playgarden at HortPark, there’s a butterfly garden, sandpits, and teepee structures for hours of imaginative play. Nature-loving kids will blow a gasket at the log trails and bamboo tunnel, too!
It’s packed with fun little spots, and you can barely hear any hint of city noise. Honestly, it’s the kind of rustic playtime that kids who grew up highly urbanised need in regular doses.
Pro tip: Parents and guardians can grab a coffee from Canopy on the way in.
Raintree Cove Playground

What I love about Raintree Cove Playground is that, aside from the ubiquitous see-saws, swings, and climbing structures, there’s also a covered pavilion for parents and guardians to relax in and keep an eye on the kids.
Chair swings and individual swings make it friendly for families of all sizes. It’s a cosy seaside spot that’s perfect for a breezy play session by the coast.
Pro tip: It’s located where the old Burger King drive-thru used to be!
