The Best Happy Hour Deals in Singapore That Are Truly a Steal!

I remember when happy hours used to be just cheap beer at a kopitiam or basic two-for-one pub deals. Nothing exciting. Now, bars are battling it out with killer discounts, creative cocktails, and gourmet bites.

So I did a 2 week-long bar crawl that involved S$10 rooftop cocktails, speakeasies, and all-night martini deals, just to come up with the best happy hour deals in Singapore. Cheers!

Happy hour: 5 PM to 7 PM

Most bars serve happy hour drinks, but The Elephant Room serves a whole vibe. There are S$19 cocktails during happy hour here which are inspired by the flavours of Little India, and they pair wonderfully with its spiced Indian-style pizzas.

The space is all rich in colours and cultural nods to its Tanjong Pagar location. If you’re tired of generic bar menus and settings, I can’t recommend this happy hour spot enough.

Pro-tip: Try the Buffalo Road, a bold, rum-infused cocktail infused with spiced pineapple. Every sip tastes like a small trip to India!

  • Friday to Saturday, 5 PM–1 AM

Happy hour: 6 PM to 7 PM

Offtrack’s happy hour is such a mood with an eclectic soundtrack that’s as smooth as its drinks. Here, I discovered the S$16 lemon highball that goes great with the bar’s crispy eggplant fries while I swayed and bopped to the music.

I know the term “hidden gem” gets thrown a lot in F&B circles, but Offtrack truly looks and feels like one. The cosy, vinyl-lined space doesn’t have the usual bar chaos and instead feels like a friend’s den that’s ideal for unwinding after a long work day.

Pro-tip: Check out Offtrack’s DJ sessions and other music-centred events here!

Hours:

  • Sunday to Friday, 5 PM–1 AM
  • Saturday, 5 PM–2 AM

Happy hour: 5 PM to 7 PM

For the budget-conscious tippler, Employees Only’s happy hour is a joyful one with S$10 house pours flowing freely from 5 to 7 PM. Set in a sleek, speakeasy ambience, being here feels like a great ending to a tiring week.

The crowd is always lively and the cocktails are strong, plus the bar chows are inventive. When I feel like having an extended stay, I usually order the steak tartare which is consistently excellent.

Pro-tip: Try the zucchini chips with your choice of cocktails for a texture and flavour feast.

The Store

Website
Address: 11 Neil Road

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 4 PM-midnight
Price: $$
Happy hour: 4 PM to 6 PM

The Store feels less like a bar and more like a cool friend’s living room—that is if your friend made S$11 cocktails that taste way fancier than they should. Its 11@11 promo (cocktails for S$11 during happy hour) is one of the best-kept secrets in town.

The cosy, candle-lit space is conducive for unwinding solo at the bar or catching up quietly with friends. Add to that the overall calm, non-rowdy crowd of Neil Road, and you’re in for a chill night.

Pro-tip: Pair your drinks with popcorn or tortilla chips for a more relaxed drinking session.

Eat Sum Thing

Happy hour: 5 PM to 8 PM

Eat Sum Thang’s cheeky name doesn’t take away from its Boat Quay vibe, especially during its fun happy hour. It serves up craft beers and natural wines for just S$10!

The music keeps things lively and energetic inside the bar, and the bites are as good as its drinks. The mac and cheese balls are particularly good with their crisp exterior and gooey, cheesy inside!

Pro-tip: While you’re here, why not eat something unique? The mackerel nuggets and salmon brioche are tasty picks!

Caffe Fernet

Hours:

  • Monday to Wednesday, 5–11 PM
  • Thursday to Sunday, noon–11 PM

Price: $$
Happy hour: Opening to 7.30 PM

It’s at Caffe Fernet where I started with a S$16 Aperol Spritz and ended up wondering if I should just quit my day job and live by the bay. Being here is the perfect excuse to sip cocktails while soaking in the Marina Bay Sands skyline like I own the place.

The al fresco vibes make everything taste better, whether it’s a crisp pilsner from a five-bottle bucket or a glass of prosecco that goes down easy. I like going here to sustain my atas aspirations.

Pro-tip: Order the veal meatballs with a tangy tomato sauce, ricotta, and basil with your drink for the flavour explosion.

Alter Ego

Hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday, noon–10.30 PM
  • Friday to Saturday, noon–11.30 PM

Happy hour: noon to 7 PM

Happy hour starts at noon at Alter Ego, because why wait for dusk when S$5 beers, G&Ts, and whisky sodas are calling? With Marina Bay views and a laidback vibe, it’s the kind of place where “just one drink” turns into a full afternoon session.

The bar bites like the pizza fries and spicy buffalo wings became our survival tools for all that cheap booze. It’s the ideal place to day-drink like a champ or just unwind after work (whatever time you get off from work!).

Pro-tip: Alter Ego offers its space and services for private events if you want to bring your music or atmosphere for a special occasion.

Hours: Daily, 11.30 AM to 10.30 PM

Happy hour: 5 PM to 7 PM

I like craft beer but dislike craft beer prices. Luckily, Thirty-Six Brewlab and Smokehouse offers S$9 pints of its in-house brews during happy hour, making it dangerously easy for me and my friends to have several “ones for the road.”

The vibe here is part beer hall, part cosy hideout, which is great for kicking back and settling in for a long drink session. Plus, I’m nuts over its beef empanadas which have a satisfying crunchy bite and savoury minced beef that helps soak up all that booze.

Pro-tip: Ask for the Island Lager, a great pour that’s crisp, refreshing, and perfect for muggy Singapore nights.

The Secret Mermaid is the kind of bar you stumble into once and end up immediately wanting to keep it to yourself. It’s tucked away in Ocean Financial Centre and serves up S$14 classic cocktails, S$12 house wines, and S$10 house spirits during happy hour.

Its cosy, speakeasy-style space is ideal for catching up or solo unwinding with a thoughtfully-made drink. If you’re into American craft spirits, check this hidden gem out (there, I spilt the secret to you!).

Pro-tip: Ask the bartender for the Few Barrelled Gin, which has rich tones to enhance the classic gin and tonic.

For happy hour dates, Abriza Rooftop Restaurant nails it with stunning views and surprisingly affordable and delicious food. Its pizza is a must-try, with dough made from scratch that the head chef takes pride in.

Its 1-for-1 Aperol Spritz during happy hour is spot-on, and the vibe gets even better with a magician working the crowd!

Pro-tip: Try to get a table before sunset to soak in the golden hour while sipping a cocktail or two.

Alleybar

Happy hour: 5 PM to 8 PM

For me, Alleybar nails the fusion game, especially with its locally inspired-cocktails. The Jungle Rum is a must-try with its bold, balanced flavour which lets the booze shine through without being overpowering.

I particularly enjoyed the hand-crafted Bellinis as an aperitif; it was light and refreshing. Also, the bar bites were superb! I had the pork skewers with watermelon and some satay with my drinks and my palate was thanking me all the way home.

Pro-tip: If you’re not sure which cocktail to order, you can ask the bartender to surprise you with something customised!

No.5 Emerald Hill

Hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday, noon–2 AM
  • Friday to Saturday, noon–3 AM

Happy hour: Noon to 9 PM

No.5 Emerald Hill serves up some seriously unique martinis. Its Jello martini is ideal for those who don’t like strong liquor and prefer it smooth and easy. If you prefer it fruity, the watermelon martini packs a punch despite its fresh taste.

Its moody, old-school Peranakan vibe makes it feel like stepping back in time when happy hour in Singapore doesn’t exist. Dim red lighting and vintage touches add to the speakeasy, moody charm.

Pro-tip: When you’re served peanuts, go ahead and throw the shells on the floor. It’s a custom at this bar!
