Curb your need for speed at these 3 best go karting spots in Singapore!

My husband loves Formula One, and he has always stayed tuned in to all the races around the world. So, you can just imagine how ecstatic he is each year when the Singapore Grand Prix comes right around the corner.

Although he’s not a racer, he does enjoy the thrill, but the closest thing he could experience to a Formula One race is go karting. I mean, karts can go really really fast, and luckily, it’s enough to satisfy the need for speed in my husband.

So, if you too are looking for that speedy thrill, here are the top spots for go karting in Singapore!

The first time I raced at HyperDrive, I felt like I just stepped into Mario Kart. Their Game of Karts feature isn’t just go-karting but an interactive race where you can collect virtual boosts to speed ahead or drop items to slow down your friends on the track.

There are a total of 14 exhilarating turns in the multi-level indoor track complete with immersive lighting and sound effects. All karts are electric and equipped with pro-level steering for maximum thrill, fun, and turning speed.

Tips:

  • Before hitting the track, all drivers go through a safety briefing covering essential rules like flag signals and responsible racing. Make sure to wear covered shoes, and if you don’t have a balaclava, you can purchase one on-site for $3.
  • If you’re aiming for the Senior Kart class, remember you’ll need a valid car or motorcycle license, be at least 18 years old, and shave your Novice lap time down to 34.5 seconds or less. Get practising, and you’ll be ready to hit the fast lane in no time!

For a go-karting experience with a twist, Skyline Luge Singapore is a must-try. Picture yourself steering a gravity-powered cart down a 1.4-kilometre track, weaving through twists and turns at your own pace.

My friends and I hopped on the scenic chairlift to the top before racing down, and the best part is that the carts are super easy to control, making it just as fun for beginners as it is for thrill-seekers.

I love riding the luges on my own, but it’s also quite fun to do the tandem rides with my kids sometimes.

Tips:

  • For the best luge experience, go for a multi-ride package! A 5-ride bundle (starting at $40 per person) lets you race down the track multiple times, perfect for mastering the turns or challenging friends. Plus, you’ll get a group photo capturing the action, so you can relive the fun long after the race is over!
  • While it’s great to do this during the day, it’s even more fun at night. The whole track lights up, and I would definitely recommend that you try it when the sun goes down.

KF1 Karting Circuit is home to the island’s longest karting track, stretching 960 metres and featuring multiple turns. It’s also one of the best places to go as fast as you want, almost 50 kilometres per hour, so long as you have a driver’s licence.

The first time I hit the track, I was blown away by how intense it was—tight corners, high-speed straights, and the challenge of keeping control at every turn.

Safety’s covered with full-face helmets and a quick briefing, but once you’re out there, it’s just you, the track, and the thrill of the race.

Tips:

  • To secure your spot at KF1, book your tickets up to 5 days in advance. Don’t wait until the last minute! Reservations must be made at least 2 hours before your desired session.
  • On the day of your race, arrive at the ticketing counter at least 30 minutes early to check in and gear up. This way, you won’t miss a second of the action.
  • Wear comfortable pants or shorts as skirts and loose clothing aren’t ideal. Covered shoes are a must with sports shoes recommended. Helmets and shower caps are provided, but you can bring your own full-face helmet if you prefer.
